The first examination is important for assessing your complaint and risk correctly. A little preparation makes the visit much more productive.
Bring with you
- Your mammogram, ultrasound and MRI images, if you have them (CD or report)
- Pathology results
- A list of your medicines
- Previous surgery or discharge documents
Make notes beforehand
- When the complaint began
- Family history of breast or ovarian cancer
- Your menstrual cycle and any hormone use
- What you would like to ask the doctor
How the examination goes
First we listen to you, then the breasts and underarms are examined. If needed, an ultrasound or other imaging is planned the same day. You can come for an examination even if you have no documents.
It is completely natural to feel anxious. Do not hesitate to ask all your questions.
