Doç. Dr. Ebru Şen

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Şen is a general surgeon whose area of interest is breast surgery. She completed her medical degree and general surgery residency at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and took an oncoplastic breast surgery course at the Senatürk Breast Cancer Center in Düsseldorf, Germany. She sees patients at Istinye University Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital and Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital.

Approach

She stresses the importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer, regular breast self-examination and regular mammographic screening after age 40, and notes that the biology of the tumour is an important factor in outcome even when the disease is caught early.
